Welcome to the John W. Lee website. Since 2009, Lee has toured the entire east coast of the United States including dates with Michael Allman, Mark Bryan of Hootie and the Blowfish, Danielle Howle, and Sean Kelley of A Fragile Tomorrow. With an appearance at the 2010 SXSW music festival in Austin Texas with Evolucid, JWL has kicked off his solo career with a bang! Ghram Fest 2010, Valley Earth Fest, River House Blues and BBQ festival, Watermelon Park Bluegrass Festival, just to name a few, have all been on John’s show schedule over the past two years. With a style completely his own, JWL and American Modern Folk Music are beginning to gain some serious momentum. Blending influences gathered since the age of Seven, JWL relies on his Appalachian roots, classical training, improvisational style and strong vocals to mold songs in American Modern Folk Music. AMFM is John’s creation, although many other artists are beginning to use the genre name for their own music, it started here.
